Now, I love music, all sorts...but it's been a while since I've HAD to buy a CD.  And just couldn't talk myself out of buying a CD, thinking that I'd just download the songs I wanted from that artist on iTunes (legally of course)...But today, well today was a great day.  I was giddy, yes, giddy and excited to buy a CD, open it up and devour the liner notes!  What a rush!

While browsing music today at Wal-Mart, I ran across a new Anne Murray CD.  I did a double take and yup, that's exactly what it was, a new Anne Murray CD.  The CD has Anne singing all of her best loved hits and some songs that weren't really hits, like one of my favorites "Another Pot of Tea" and to top it all off, she's singing with a stellar line-up of female vocalists.  From Carole King to Nelly Furtado, kd lang to Olivia Newton John...you name it, the top female vocalists.  Wow, it's an awesome CD.

Don't know what it is about Anne Murray, but she's the reason that I ever even contemplated being a singer.  There was just something about Anne that inspired and made me think, yeah, that's what I want to do...The first song that I sang on stage was "Day Dream Believer"...it was a total flop and I think it took me about 20 years to get back on stage after that...but back on-stage I did.  And today, listening to this CD it brought all of the excitement of first thinking, yeah I can do that back to me...Thanks Anne Murray for giving me the first taste of a female singer that I felt I could emulate and now YEARS later for putting out a CD of music that brought it all back to me!

Now I can't believe that wrote all of that down, but I guess that's what blogging is all about, sharing thoughts with the world...and who knows, there may be more Anne fan's our there too!
